John Honos spent 16 years overseas in Europe playing football at an elite level, where he was exposed to a wide range of professional goalkeeping coaches, training methods and football environments.

Upon returning to Australia, John signed with Oakleigh Cannons, where he spent the remainder of his career as the club's senior goalkeeper and captain.

Alongside his playing career, John also held senior coaching roles as Head Goalkeeping Coach at Bentleigh Greens and Dandenong City within the NPL system. As part of these roles, John was responsible for goalkeeper video analysis, regularly reviewing match footage with players to identify strengths, highlight areas for improvement and accelerate their development.

Throughout both his playing and coaching career, John has always believed that video analysis is one of the most powerful tools available to a goalkeeper.

The ability to watch back your positioning, decision-making, movement patterns and technique provides a level of understanding that training alone cannot always deliver.

As a player, John relied heavily on video analysis throughout his own development, using it to identify mistakes, refine technical details and continually improve his performances. This experience shaped his belief that reviewing and understanding your actions is just as important as the training itself.
